Norfolk Beefing is an old English apple variety used primarily for cooking and drying. It was first described in this country in the 1840’s but was not listed in any southern nursery catalogs. A medium to large apple that hangs on the tree into January or later. It is greenish-yellow in color with a dull red coating and faintly striped. The greenish-white flesh is crisp and juicy and sweetens in storage. Considered a good keeper.
